Carowinds Is Getting 5 New Flats and Worlds of Fun Is Getting 2 New Flats- All From Europe

Back it August, the LA Times reported that Cedar Fair was going to take a little trek to Europe to search for some classic flat rides. The LA Times today released what got picked up during the trek to Europe.

The trek took Monty Jasper, head of Cedar Fair maintenance and a small crew of other Cedar Fair maintenance employees to Scotland, Holland, Italy, Switzerland and Germany where they collected seven classic flat rides.

Cedar Fair spent $7 million — about $1 million per ride — on a Mondial Top Scan, Mack Music Express, Zierer Wave Swinger, Huss Condor, Huss Breakdance and a pair of Huss Troikas.

After the rides are extensively refurbished by Corroy Consulting in Holland, five of the rides are heading to Carowinds , and the other two are on their way to Worlds of Fun in time for this summer season.

Corroy Consulting will strip, repaint, repair and update all 7 flat rides with new electrical and lighting before being shipped to Carowinds and Worlds of Fun.

They decided against these rides due to maintenance reasons:
-Holiday Park’s Funtime Star Flyer
-The now closed Loudoun Castle theme park in Scotland’s Twist and Shout portable Schwarzkopf Looping Coaster
-A Huss Top Scan (Spin?)
-A Mack Bobsled Coaster

Carowinds is getting:
