Darien Lake has announced that they will be adding RipCurl Racer, a 6 lane ProSlide Kraken Racer mat racing slide into their SplashTown water park.

The slide is 294 feet long, and lasts 24 seconds.

The park went after the Genesse County Planning Board in Janurary to receive building permits for this attraction.

Rip Curl Racer will go over the park’s no longer operating separate water park entry gate, Barrcuda Bay and Flood Gate Falls attractions..

The park is spending $2.8 million on new additions to the park in 2016. Rip Curl Racer will cost $1.5 million. The other $1.3 million will be for one new train of the park’s signature Ride of Steel Intamin Hyper Coaster. It will seat 32 people.

The park has received great additions under management of Premier Attractions. In 2015, they received Brain Drain in the water park, 2 Drop Box slides and Rolling Thunder, a Larson Super Loop.

In 2010, under PARC Management, the water park received a $7 million expansion, including Swirl City, a multi slide complex, a lazy river, and wave pool.

It’s great to see Darien Lake slowly improve after several management changes over the past 20 years!
