Six Flags Announces 2017 Additions

This morning, Six Flags announced what is coming to each of their parks in 2017. The additions range from dark rides, water park expansions, roller coasters to flat rides. Below is a highlight of what each individual park is getting!

Six Flags Magic Mountain: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark ride

Six Flags Magic Mountain will be adding Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, a brand new dark ride in the old Batman Stunt Theater. Six Flags Magic Mountain’s addition will have an extra scene featuring Harley Quinn!

Six Flags Great Adventure will be adding Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, a brand new dark ride in the land of the old Chiller coaster.

Also, Six Flags Fiesta Texas’s park president, Neal Thurman, got promoted to the park president here at Six Flags Great Adventure. Congrats to Neal on the well deserved promotion! Neal’s predecessor is listed under Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

Six Flags Great America will be adding The Joker, a new S&S 4D Free Spin coaster where Ragin Cajun, East River Crawler and the Orbit were.

Six Flags Over Georgia: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark ride

Six Flags Over Georgia will be adding Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, a brand new dark ride in the land of the old bumper cars by Superman, their flying coaster.

Six Flags Over Texas will be adding The Joker, a new S&S 4D Free Spin coaster in their Gotham City.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas: Thunder Rapids Water Coaster

Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be adding Thunder Rapids, a new water park in time for their 25th anniversary. Thunder Rapids will feature 5 uphill sections and 4 flying saucers turns. Also, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be adding  a colorful, new Mardi Gras Festival, featuring eight authentic parade floats artfully created by one of the world-renowned New Orleans float designers, Kern Studios. This event will be presented twice daily every operating day along park streets from March 24 through April 30. To enhance the party atmosphere, Mardi Gras themed food, merchandise and park décor will be prominent through the park during this festive timeframe. As a tribute to the seasonal events at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, several floats will feature a salute to the seasons, including Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park.

Also, Six Flags Fiesta Texas’s marketing director, Jeffrey Siebert is now park president! Congrats to Jeffrey on the well deserved promotion!

Six Flags New England: The Joker, S&S 4D Free Spin Coaster

Six Flags New England will be adding The Joker, a new S&S 4D Free Spin coaster in the area of the soon to be removed Splashwater Falls water ride. This will be the first 4D Free spin coaster in the New England area, and definitely will be unique.

Six Flags St. Louis will be adding SpinSanity, a 50 ft tall Disk’O ride.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: Wonder Woman Lass of Truth, a new Frisbee ride

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be adding Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth, a new Zamperla Giant Discovery. This is similar to the Riddler Revenge ride installed at Six Flags Over Texas this year. Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth will be in between The Joker and Superman: Ultimate Flight.

Six Flags Mexico: Hurricane Harbor Water Park and The New Revolution VR 

Six Flags Mexico will be adding Hurricane Harbor water park in Oaxptec, which is a rebuild of an old water park. Also, they’ll be adding The New Revolution VR on Medusa Steel Coaster. Lastly, they’ll be getting the  Mardi Gras Festival, from March 17 to May 1, featuring authentic New Orleans style parade floats, complemented with delicious, traditional carnival food and merchandise along with colorful park décor.

Six Flags America will be adding  Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth, a 242 ft Star Flyer attraction. This ride has been installed at several other Six Flags parks before.
