Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival 2017 Continues Until April 23rd

The Boysenberry Festival is in full swing at Knott’s Berry Farm now until April 23rd.  Amazing food concoctions, stellar entertainment, fresh flowers and family fun are the hallmarks of this annual spring event at the Farm.  Returning favorites include the pie eating contest, the pie walk, the wine tasting card, and the food tasting card. We have been there a couple of times this year, and want to share with you some of the awesomeness!

Crafter’s Village:  As you enter Ghost Town, you will be greeted by the Crafter’s Village.  Many of the same artist that where there for Merry Farm are gracing the Farm with their unique products once again.  New to the crafter’s village is artist David Kizziar.

This pencil drawing by artist David Kizziar was designed especially for the 2017 Boysenberry Festival.  Get yours while supplies last, a great collectible souvenir for only $5.00.

The Crafter’s Village is also where you can buy your very own Boysenberry Bushes, for $20.00 each.

I plan to try to grow some berries this year, I will keep you posted on how that works.  However, if you just want to buy the berries, check out

Continuing to wander the streets of Calico, the air is filled with the aroma of all the awesome Boysenberry treats prepared especially for the festival.  Boysenberry Pizza, Ravioli, Panna Cotta, Wings, Meatballs, Shakes, Churros, a total of 75 or more delectable foods await you at the farm.

Returning Favorite, Boysenberry Meatballs. One of the six great samples offered on the Tasting Card, only $25.00

A quick visit to Old MacDonald’s Farm to visit the horses, burro, goats, and sheep.  All of the horses used at Knott’s are retired, rescued race horses.  Thanks Knott’s for giving these guys a great home and a great purpose.

Sheep Shearing:  This is completely harmless to the animals, and helps to keep them clean, as well as provide us with nice wool socks!

Moving deeper into Calico, we find an adorable little kitchen for the little ones to make their very own Boysenberry pies.

Wine Tasting is available for the parents in the Wilderness Barn.  For $25.00 you can get a tasting card that lets you try six wines or beers, and includes a nice cheese, fruit, and cracker tray.

As always, Knott’s has amazing entertainment.  There is a brand new Melodrama in the Bird Cage Theatre, Dancing in the Ball Room, an interactive program in Camp Snoopy, and the amazing Crazy Kirk in the Wagon Camp.

I will leave you will a taste of Crazy Kirk in the Wagon Camp.  The show has always been amazing, but the huge outdoor venue suited this group and they were on fire!

Crazy Kirk and the Hillbillies first ever performance in the Knott’s Berry Farm Wagon Camp. It was a full house, and the band loved the big stage, the crowd, and the occasional visits from Silver Bullet!

Ok, well we will be back at Knott’s tomorrow, and I hope you are too.  The Easter Sunrise Service will be in the Wagon Camp, watch for live coverage starting at 6am Pacific Time.  The park will be open from 10am to 10pm.  Awesome festivities will include visits from the Easter Beagle.
