As reported by Diana Bahena, PR Represenative at Knott’s Berry Farm on November 17th:

“The holiday fun started at Knott’s Merry Farm tonight with a special tree lighting ceremony in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club in Orange County. Knott’s invited out 15 chapters of the Boys and Girls Club Orange County to enjoy the very first tree lighting ceremony of the season. They had front row seats to a show featuring classic holiday songs by the Little Chapel Bell Choir, a dance number performed by Santa Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang, and a special appearance by an unsuspected guest, Santa Claus! Santa Claus delivered a gift for two children from the Boys and Girls Club which contained a magical ornament that held the light of Christmas. Once the children placed the ornament on the Christmas tree, it’s dozens of twinkling lights illuminated the tree which culminated with snow falling on to the visiting Boys and Girls Club members gathered in the area.

Returning favorite shows “It’s the Merriest Christmas Show Ever Charlie Brown” , “Merry Christmas Snoopy! Ice Show”, the Melodramas at the historic Birdcage Theater, the nightly Snow and Glow in Ghost Town, and  festive carolers are joined by beautiful new holiday décor to make Merry Farm 2018 a truly fresh and breathtaking experience.  The shows are funny, tender and sweet.  The telling of the Nativity Story by Linnis during the “Merry Christmas Snoopy” Ice Show is always a highlight of the experience.

By far, the “Merry Christmas Snoopy! Ice Show is my favorite.  It combines awesome choreography , great music, and great story telling.  The number “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” tells the story of romance, sacrifice, and endurance as lived by the young couples separated by WW 2 in a tender, moving display of grace and style.  Linus tells the Nativity Story in a moving recital.  The numbers staring Snoopy are colorful, demonstrating the amazing talent of the skaters to great music with a backdrop of clever props and scenery.

The new decorations, including a giant lit bow on top of the entry sign and festive lights in the trees in front of the park add to the holiday cheer.  The Boardwalk is particularly festive this year, featuring a beautiful frozen fountain.  New trees also adorn the Hangtime gift shop, the water near the Delta flyers and Scrambler, and Coaster’s Restaurant, (Pink and Teal in honor or Xcellarator.)
